Pinnacle Studio Pro App Reviews

Dont listen to all of the 5-star reviews. This app is practically 1% professional.

Dont get fooled by "professional video editor". this app is not professional at all. What I mean by professional is like After Effects, Maya, and Premiere Pro, not this stupid app which has no good features and you have to render all of the texts and montages before it accurately previews the clip to you. Yeah sure it has more features than iMovie for iPad, but only a few more features. What I want in a mobile video editor is green screen, and I dont want any stupid green border around the area. I just want a good mobile video editing app that has all of the things that I need. This will change my 1-star review to a 4-star review. If you get rid of the rendering process then I will give you a 5-star review. But until then, dont waste your precious 13 dollars, this app is not worth it.

Ok, but not worth $13

This app seems like it has a great engine on the back end, but everything on the front end is hideous. Also there are several features missing that other cheaper apps have. For example text control is extremely lacking compared to apps like Videorama. And to my surprise there is absolutely no way to color correct or add filters to the footage. I would give this app for stars if it cost three dollars, but to ask for $13 and to not deliver a full feature set is robbery.

Not as sophisticated as iMovie

Save your money--this app doesnt do more than iMovie does and iMovie is free.

Best Video Editor on iOS

No, it wont replace your desktop editor, but its the closest thing we have to one on iOS at the moment. Great for quick editing, with lots of great export/save/backup options.

Quirky but it does a better job than most

Pinnacle Studio Pro is quirky and it tends to crash quite a bit when doing a larger video (possibly a memory issue) aside from that it has some very nice features that I have not found in other video editing apps. You can use Ken Burns effects for both video and photos, and I like that -unlike iMovie- you can place and entire photo in frame even if the aspect ratio does not match instead of being forced to fill the entire frame. The ability to trim video frame by frame is a big plus for me. It allows me to create very accurate cut scenes and crossovers. The multitrack audio is nice but there appear to be limited options for mixing and audio cross fades. Overall this is the most feature rich video editor I have used on the iPad.

Broken

Pinnacle Studio Pro used to work great, but the current version is broken. Freezes constantly. Wont export finished videos. Oddly, the regular version of Pinnacle Studio works just fine. Corel should fix Pinnacle Studio Pro asap!

Its a very well done app!

TO THE DEVELOPERS!: Please enable more cloud options, Some of us use Amazon Cloud Storage, or MEGA. It would be awesome if you could support those two.

A great professional video editor

Great new addition with the Fullscreen overlay template. Its fantastic that this editor has a real timeline, two-view trimmer and audio mixing. I especially like the storyboard and timeline view where I can quickly layout a project in the storyboard, then use the timeline to refine my edits. I wish it had a true 2nd track, but you can do almost anything you could do with a second track use overlays on clips to create PIPs, overlay titles, etc. I really like the new audio features and especially the ability to export audio-only.

Great mobile editor, one request...

This is a great editor. Ive been editing short stories for Instagram Stories and since they are in portrait orientation, itd be great if Pinnacle Studio for iPhone could edit in portrait orientation. Thanks!

This is a LEGIT professional grade video editor on the go.

Robust and stable. Nice platform, looking forward to an even better UI/UX as it develops.

Bad product

The most difficult app ever TEXT on image and movie is a nightmare...why I dont know. Every other thing is fine. I like every other aspect of it. The $4 apps are way better

Audio

Must admit a bit disappointed...I was expecting a more robust audio selection, other than a few effects really not much to speak of...other wise ok.

Really Bad

This barley lets u do anything

Worst App of all apps created!

This app is the worst app of all apps created. Its so confusing and it doesnt even work! Dont fall for the video.

Amazing

Great app. Worth the money. The UI is simple yet professional. Amazing amount of transition effects and adding audio is super simple, just cut, chop and adjust. Great app for work presentations and for hobbyist.

No Slo-Mo support??

I downloaded this app SPECIFICALLY so I could use it to put together some slo-mo vids I shot on my iPhone 6s, but when I put them on there, they dont play in slo-mo, then when I saved the video, it didnt play in slo-mo either??? This app is $13 which is expensive for a app, so why is their no slo-mo support?

Frustrated by limitations and usability

I like the storyboard and transitions but (1) this app doesnt have some basic functions that other apps have and (2) usability could be better. A few examples: - You cannot set the aspect ratio or produce portrait and square video. - You cannot flip video or rotate it freehand with two fingers. You can only rotate 90°. - There is no reverse video function. - Some functions require 2 or even 3 taps to access instead of being clearly identified and accessible on screen. - Import selection uses only a small amount of the screen instead of fullscreen. - The small import area on the iPad does not go away while editing. - There is no zoom-only function. Instead, you must select pan and zoom, then double tap the video or photo, set a starting position, and then copy start position to end position so that it prevents panning. Note, I recommend watching all the tutorials before trying to use this app. --

Great Value and Very Capable

For fraction of the cost of computer-based video editors such as Movavi, CybrtLink, and Filmora - the Pinnacle Pro has most of their capabilities! The learning curve was shallow for my creating a first video for my Facebook page and looked wonderful. Yes, there is a wish list - more transitions, more fonts, and another video track for example. BUT for the price it is a Good Value.

Not a Pro

No key frames. Limited effects. One video track. Two months after buying Pinnacle, Luma Fusion shows up with some of these features, not as upgrade to Pinnacle. Will not be suckered into additional cost. Going back to desktop editing. - there are apps for free that are pro quality.

Support for MPEG-4

This is a great editor and I really love it. However I wish they had support for MPEG-4 movie formats. As of now I can not export my videos because of that issue. I can play them on my iPad before I edit them and I can edit them in the application but when I go to export it it says I cant do it. I like to record video games and I can only export my videos from my capture card in that MPEG-4 format. Please fix this and I will give 5 stars.
